Pohutukawa Coast Suburbs
Beachlands
It’s a mix of Old & New
Now the most populated suburb of the Pohutukawa Coast thanks to some amazing growth over the last few years, there is often refence to “old Beachlands” an area well known for property that has many large flat sections that are close to the well-used beaches and walkways. It is also home to the original Beachlands Village with its many eateries and local convenience stores.
The “newer Beachlands” is a mix of standalone homes and terraced housing that brought with them the new Pohutukawa Shopping Centre, providing the coast its first big supermarket chain and new outlet stores and eateries.
Other features are the Rydges Formosa Golf Resort and the Pine Harbour Marina with its restaurants and the well-used Pine Harbour Ferry service, which has up to 20 sailings per day and has you in the heart of Auckland’s CBD in 35 minutes.
Beachlands has a great reputation as a family friendly community and alongside good schooling there are many sports and clubs that families can be involved in. Altogether Beachlands is an amazing place for many, with easy access to the beaches and only a short drive to South and East Auckland it’s easy to see the appeal.
Maraetai
Life’s a Beach
Famous for its large sandy beach Maraetai is home to some amazing properties. The predominately hilly landscape means a lot of homes have sea views. From spectacular waterfront to higher up panoramic views and everything in between. Home to the Maraetai Beach Boat Club & Sailing Club, it also has its own Bowling Club and the only gas station in Beachlands Maraetai. A close nit community with a great school it is very much a part of Beachlands and both communities are often together at impressive Te Puru Sports Centre, home to Rugby, Netball and many other sports.
